Bio
Déjà Louve has been performing burlesque since 2014, prowling her way across stages in Canada, the United States, and down to Panama. With a love of sultry blues and heavy-hitting industrial, Déjà pairs classic elegance with raw, carnal power into a performance style you’ll want to see over and over again.
Her approach to live performance is informed by her background in film production. Déjà’s costumes and choreography fill the frame with high drama and exquisite detail. With an editor’s eye for pacing, rhythm, and musicality, every act is a spectacle that inspires repeat viewing.
From the big screen to big stages, The Howling Heartbreaker has left a lasting impression on audiences across Canada and was a semi-finalist in the Imperial Burlesque Canada competition in 2022. She has also performed internationally as a featured guest artist with IvaFiero Productions in Seattle, in Central America, and at the Croatian Burlesque and Cabaret Festival.
In addition to owning the stage, Déjà is also a powerhouse producer. She is the Producer & Creative Director of Queen City Burlesque Expo, an annual Weekender and production company that creates blockbuster events in six locations throughout the East & West Kootenays, which has been named one of the top 5 burlesque productions in Canada for two years in a row. In 2023, she launched PRETTY / WRECKLESS: A Heavy Metal Burlesque Show to rave reviews, and partnered up with Draglesque Extraordinaire LBee in 2024 to create Hard Leather Honey, a touring drag and burlesque show that dares to be weird.
Driven by her core values of building connections, creating shared experiences, bolstering representation, and fostering personal development, Déjà has received over a dozen arts grants that have enabled her to provide ongoing paid opportunities to local performers, as well as offering affordable resources to help other performers “level up” their burlesque careers through mentorships, workshops, and photography projects. As part of her commitment to personal growth, she is also a dedicated advocate for mental health and encourages others to show up for themselves so they can show up fully onstage.
